A suspected robber was shot and killed after shooting an officer and his K9 partner.

Officer Melrose was shot in the chest and hip, His partner Zip, a Belgian Malinois, was shot in the ear. Both are expected to recover.

The shooting occured following a call reporting an armed robbery at a local car wash.The suspect fled on foot and a permeter was established.

The man , hiding  in a shed, opened fire on the officers.
